2011 is going to be an interesting and challenging year. I feel ready to take it on and work toward 2012.

I am working on business reference and resources both paid & gratis. Trying to get my education settled and back on track.

I want to learn how to develop my own app.

I want an app for this and an app for that. Namely library and reference resource smartphone apps.

There are not a great quantity nor quality of reference apps.

I wish there were more database and library access in mobile applications.

I like to make lists of items. I scribble on post-it notes.

In an effort to make my research skills more marketable I am learning to find Medical, Health related subject sources.

I am taking a few courses in the Fall 2010 semester that have me information seeking useful resources in June. I love to plan.

The courses I will be taking are: A Public Health class on Violence as a health issue and a Medical Resources & Libraries course.

As my pièce de résistance I am expanding my knowledge on technology and Emergency Preparedness /Disaster Preparedness.

I am very much interested in new technologies that enhance and aid in situations and as preparedness tools.

I love GIS, & GPS and have considered taking an intro course in Geolocation.

I really want to design and app. I actually have a few apps I would love to create. I am looking for a course.

Mobile apps and technologies in Health and Medicine are also resources I am compiling for my classes in the Fall.

I have been doing yoga and I am starting to see the results.  I need to make some new fitness aka exercise plans for 2010.  I will stick with the yoga and dance but I need more cardio. I also want to try new things.

I want to walk a “half marathon”. I have one in mind.  May 2, 2010 Avenue of  the Giants Half Marathon Humboldt, CA.  I have set my sights before on a 7-mile hike. I have done a few 5ks. This would be 13 miles. The half-marathon course has some hills. So I need to train for the incline and elevation.

I will be taking my 1st golfing lessons in January 2010 at Harding Park Golf Course.  I am looking forward to learning something new.

Tennis is a class I did well in at SFSU. I want to take a tennis course. I thought if I found an activity partner, I could revive some skills.  I tried placing a ad on Craigslist.org but got no responses.

My other activity I will partake in in 2010 is Muay Thai boxing. I have been wanting to learn a martial art. I like the fact of building leg strength.

There is a distinct possibility I may go X-C skiing sometime in 2010.  I really want to go to Spooner Lake.

As for the dancing, I am signed up for another tap dance class. I plan to get out and go salsa dancing but it is hard to go alone or find people.

So those are my plans.

It is that time of year again when I start thinking about the supernatural events that have happened in San Francisco, CA.  S.F. with its kooky and eccentric history is ripe for paranormal activity.

Take for instance the numerous cemeteries that were in San Francisco. There are haunted houses, haunted hotels and spooky alleys and parks.  Below are some suggestions for further reading and ghost tours you can take for fun.  Happy Halloween!

The article of course may be a lead in for the rest of the issue extolling Costco’s Kirkland brand, it did provide some useful information and statistics on the market for the generic labels of in retail.  The article is an overview of the history and growth of the private label.

I am really fortunate to have stumbled across this article. It is helping me with a research plan I am developing.

Part of our training packet included handouts from the Grassroots Fundraising Journal. Author Kim Klein is  prolific and very informative. I liked the “Lations” article by Dennis Barden on “Why People Give”. We discussed the “Feel, Felt Found method”  on overcoming objections.

There is a “Social Justice” aspect to this campaign which I find intriguing.   As I looked over the talking points I started thinking of additions.

I am culling a list of  neighborhood and childhood prospects. I know some of the heartstrings to play on regarding this neighborhood and history. I talked about the outline of the book and possible publishing deal with the Children’s Librarian.

I need to get moving on the book project as I could be a featured author for the “History Day” fundraiser.  I will be at the Ingleside Branch Library grand opening with the other committee members to see how it is done, so to speak.
